According to the BBC Good Food website, we’re all indulging in a slice of cake to avoid the reality of the credit crunch. Apparently “cake” has replaced “chicken” as the most searched word on their online search engine, as we all become comfort eaters.
I made some cakes recently. Indulgent, yes. Better than chicken, yes.
But I just wanted cake! I can honestly say I never gave the Dow Jones a second thought.
