One Week to Go
I haven’t exactly been a prolific blogger this year, but thought I’d do a quick catch up.
This year has FLOWN. And it’s entirely due to falling pregnant back in March. We had our 12 weeks scan, then we were counting down to our 20 week scan, now we’re counting down to that magic 40 week date when bambino should arrive.
What they don’t tell you is that only 5% of...

Tony Hart →
(Hart Beat theme tune posted by Words Dept)
I was really sad to hear Tony Hart had died. Hart Beat definitely helped nurture my artistic side from a very young age. I often tried to recreate his amazing projects (usually resulting in myself and the carpet covered in paint, glue and charcoal). He had a big influence on me when I was little. I would have sacrificed 10p-mix-ups to get one of my...

Nevercentre's Camerabag iPhone App →
I NEED an iPhone, simply for this app. It transforms your iPhone camera, emulating several different camera and film styles. Helga, it’s Holga equivalent, is of course my favourite. Ooh, the temptation!
That reminds me, I have 5 or 6 Holga films lying around waiting for me to get processed. I’ll get a few shots up here soon.
The Unloader.
Is your inbox being terrorised by vacuous, infuriating or just down right waste-of-my-time email attachments?
Then suffer no more. The Unloader, a site by Perfect Fools with Far Far for Nokia, will destroy your unwanted files using a variety of ingenious and satisfying methods.
(Song in my head: “Bertha lovely Bertha…”)
Kung Fu Panda opening titles →
Just watched Kung Fu Panda last night. And it’s amazing. Perhaps the bottle of Rioja which accompanied played a part, but this is one of the best films I’ve seen all year.
I was impressed to read on Art of the Title a quote from Hameed Shaukat, it’s producer: “I can’t stress enough, neither the opening Dream Sequence of Kung Fu Panda nor the character animation in the End...

Sock Monkeys ROCK! →
A few years ago my husband thought I was bonkers for buying the book, Sock Monkeys, 200 out of 1,863. It features beautiful photographs by Arne Svenson of vintage sock monkeys collected by Ron Warren.
Since then of course, you find the little critters everywhere, from birthday cards to calendars. (It’s that love-hate thing of finding something really cool, then it becoming not so cool as...

I justed wanted cake →
According to the BBC Good Food website, we’re all indulging in a slice of cake to avoid the reality of the credit crunch. Apparently “cake” has replaced “chicken” as the most searched word on their online search engine, as we all become comfort eaters.
I made some cakes recently. Indulgent, yes. Better than chicken, yes.
But I just wanted cake! I can honestly say I...
